Kalo Pascha! (Happy Easter!)

Kalo Pascha! (Happy Easter!)

The weather is becoming increasingly brighter and better, and as the sun comes out so do our BBQs! With Easter quickly approaching, here at Cyprus BBQ, we find that it is important to look back to our own roots and traditions, and by doing so we hope to bring a touch of Cyprus to your Easter.

Those who follow the Greek Cypriot Orthodox Church traditions are quickly coming to the end of their 40 day lent, and how can we properly celebrate the occasion? By having a massive, mouth-watering BBQ feast for all of our family and friends to enjoy, all of which is made possible with our selection of traditional, authentic Cypriot, Rotisserie Barbecues.

To those of you that might not be aware, Eastertime in Cyprus is the largest festive period in the Greek Orthodox calendar. Joyous festivities occur throughout this time of the year, but Easter Sunday is when the celebrations truly begin. After experiencing midnight mass along with fireworks on Easter Saturday you can expect large feasts of BBQ Souvla on Easter Sunday, which are large pieces of lamb, pork, or chicken cooked on a charcoal barbecue foukou, along with cakes, sweets, salads, and a good amount of alcohol!

Allow the appetising, inviting smell of the outdoor barbecue to consume the Easter Spring air as you follow the Greek tradition of spit-roasting a lamb; the main Greek Easter meal. It is a tradition enjoyed by many Greeks and Cypriots alike that you can also enjoy too with your very own Cyprus BBQ this Easter!
